Telford teenager admits child sex charge after picking girl up from school

A Telford teenager who admitted having sexual activity with a child has been spared jail.

Joshua Hunt, 19, messaged the girl through Instagram before getting her number and arranging to meet.

Hunt, of Cumberland Mews, Leegomery, picked the girl up from school on October 21 and took her for a drive where the offence took place.

Hunt, who was 18 at the time, while the girl was 14, admitted one charge of sexual activity with a child.

He was given an 15-month sentence, suspended for two years, when he appeared at Shrewsbury Crown Court on Thursday.

He was also ordered to complete a rehabilitation activity requirement for 60 days and 80 hours unpaid work.

Hunt was made subject of a sexual harm preservation order and a notification requirement for 10 years.

He will be unable to work with children while the order is in place.

Hunt was also ordered to pay court costs of £500 and a victim surcharge.

Telford man admits sexual activity with a child

A Telford teenager has appeared in court to admit a charge of sexual activity with a child.

Joshua Hunt pleaded guilty to committing the offence involving a teenage girl.

He appeared at Shrewsbury Crown Court for a plea and directions hearing.

The case was adjourned until later this month to allow reports to be compiled on the case

He will appear before the court again on August 30, where he will be sentenced

The 19-year-old, of Cumberland Mews in Leegomery, Telford, was allowed bail.

Conditions of residence were imposed, together with having no unsupervised contact with females under 18.
