Isle of Wight paedophile breached terms of Sex Offenders’ Register

A paedophile has breached the terms of his Sex Offenders’ Register requirement for the second time — by failing to register a new bank card with the authorities.

Raymond Johnson, of High Street, Sandown, admitted the offence at the Isle of Wight Magistrates’ Court on Friday.

He left the court £592 poorer after being fined, and ordered to pay costs and a surcharge.

Johnson, 74, was caught with hundreds of indecent images of children being sexually abused — including some of the most extreme kind and children as young as one year old.

In May 2021 he was spared jail for his offending but was placed on the register, with conditions.

At first he breached the conditions by failing to tell police when he moved house, and was fined £30.

Magistrates said he would face a tougher penalty for his second breach, and gave him a heavier financial penalty.
