Man repeatedly raped boy over 11 years from age of six

A man repeatedly raped a schoolboy and tried to entice him with money and alcohol.

Jordan Firman attacked the boy from the ages of six to 17 at a property in Glasgow’s Maryhill area.

The 27-year-old also molested another boy and a girl at the house and in Cadder Community Centre.

Firman was aged between 12 and 23 during the attacks.

He was jailed after being found guilty of two charges of rape and indecent assault against the first boy. He was also convicted of indecently assaulting and sexually assaulting the other boy and indecently assaulting the girl.

The High Court in Glasgow was told of instances in which Firman would wake up the first boy in order for him to perform a sex act on him.

The victim said he was aged seven or eight, while Firman was 13 or 14, and it would happen at least once a week or more.

Firman would go on to rape the boy between the ages of 12 to 17 once a month despite his protestations.

Prosecutor Iain Smith told jurors in his prosecution speech: “When he told Firman he didn’t want to do it, he said he wouldn’t give him money unless he did.

“Firman gave him money and alcohol and the boy just let it (happen) as he thought it was normal. If the boy told Firman ‘no’, he would leave it that night and come back and offer him money.”

The court also heard Firman attacked the boy and a girl at a sports centre.

The girl, aged seven, was given a phone to “distract her” while Firman took the boy into a shower room and attacked him.

Mr Smith said: “She didn’t know what was happening…she tried to speak to the boy but there was someone behind the door.

Firman, also of Maryhill, was put on the sex offenders register and will be sentenced next month.
