Sex offender from Lossiemouth downloaded images and videos of child abuse

A convicted Lossiemouth paedophile began downloading child sexual abuse videos the day after his home was raided by police – and avoids prison for a 2nd time!

Christopher Nagle, 26, appeared at Inverness Sheriff Court for sentencing almost three years after being convicted of possessing extreme images of teens and toddlers being sexually abused.

He was sentenced then to unpaid community work and unpaid hours.

The court heard that during an initial raid, police discovered 282 indecent images on Nagles electronic devices.

But Sheriff Eilidh Macdonald heard that the following day, on February 6 2019, Nagle began building up a new collection until a second police raid on September 28, 2021.

Nagle, of Ramsay Lane, Lossiemouth, admitted two charges of downloading and possessing a total of 878 still images of 18 videos of child abuse on his mobile phone.

A third of the stills were again of the most obscene with 13 of the videos also in the top category showing rape and torture of young children

Fiscal depute Robert Weir told the court that police got a tip-off on August 10 2021 that a Snapchat and an email account were being used to obtain the material.

A search warrant was obtained and executed on September 28 and Nagles mobile phone was seized.

Sheriff Macdonald agreed. She told Nagle: If you keep carrying out these offences, there will be a time when you go to jail and you say you dont want to. You will be discovered.”

Sheriff Macdonald placed Nagle under social work supervision and on the sex offenders register for three years.

She also ordered him to carry out 200 hours of unpaid work.

In addition, she instructed Nagle to attend appointments as required with the psychological team at Dr Grays Hospital in Elgin.

This is your chance to stay out of jail, Sheriff Macdonald added.

Sex offender from Lossiemouth downloaded images and videos of child abuse

A sex offender who downloaded images and videos of child sexual abuse of kids as young as toddlers has been warned “all options” are on the table when it comes to sentencing.

Christopher Nagle of Ramsay Lane, Lossiemouth admitted two charges of downloading and possessing a total of 878 still images and 18 videos of child abuse on his mobile phone.

They were downloaded between February 6, 2019 and September 28, 2021.

A third of the stills were of the most obscene with 13 of the videos also in the top category showing rape or torture

Fiscal depute Robert Weir told Inverness Sheriff Court on Tuesday that police got a tip off on August 10, 2021 that a Snapchat and an email account were being used to obtain the material.

A search warrant was obtained and executed on September 28, and Nagle’s mobile phone was seized.

Nagle had been sentenced to a community payback order with 140 hours of unpaid work at Elgin Sheriff Court in 2019 for previously possessing images.

Sentence was deferred until July 22 for a background report and Nagle’s bail was continued.

However the 26-year-old was warned by the sheriff that a jail sentence remained one of the options available.

Pervert caught with indecent videos and images of toddlers

A Moray man caught with about 280 indecent videos and images of toddlers and teenagers has been ordered to carry out unpaid work.

Christopher Nagle kept the material on a laptop, memory stick and mobile phone at the Lossiemouth home he shares with his mother.

Police raided the property on February 5 last year after receiving information about the photographs and films being downloaded.

Yesterday the 23-yearold was sentenced at Elgin Sheriff Court after pleading guilty to a charge of “taking, permitting to be taken or making” the images.

Fiscal depute Alison Young said Nagle immediately directed police to the devices.

Nagle, of Ramsay Lane in Lossiemouth, was sentenced to 140 hours of unpaid work and placed under social work supervision for three years. He has also been placed on the sex offenders register for three years.
