Exeter man abused young girl

A dangerous paedophile from Exeter has been jailed after being found guilty of the repeated sexual abuse of a schoolgirl

Kevin Mills, 57 of Exeter appeared at Exeter Crown Court where he was convicted of:

  • Three counts of sexual assault of a child under 16 by penetration

The court was told that Mills used grooming and manipulation to gain trust with the girl – who was known to him – before isolating her and then subjecting her to repeated sexual assaults involving penetration.

Former delivery driver and bus driver Mills refused to admit the offences which forced the victim to give evidence against him during a trial in April 2022. After deliberation, the jury returned a guilty verdict on all counts

In 2012, Mills was convicted of 15 charges relating to making, possessing and distributing indecent images of children.

Of these images and movies, a large number were Category A, the most serious, which depicted babies, toddlers and teenagers being abused. There was also a handful of images which depicted acts of bestiality.

The images were found on two laptops and a SD card. Mills had also distributed images to other like minded perverts via an online paedophile ‘chatroom’

The judge sentenced him to six years imprisonment.

Mills was told that he must register as a sex offender for life and a ten year sexual harm prevention order was also made

A separate order banning him from contacting or approaching children up to the age of 18 was also imposed
