Huddersfield paedophile jailed for horrific sex attacks on young girl

A Huddersfield man has been jailed for ten years after he was found guilty of a catalogue of sexual offending against a child.

Mark Nilsson, 49, from Huddersfield, was jailed for ten years, including an extra year on licence, at Leeds Crown Court on Monday after he was found guilty of 11 counts of sexual offences committed against a young girl.

West Yorkshire Police say the offending took place between 2018 and early 2020, when it was reported.

Nilsson was arrested just a day after he was reported, and was investigated by the Kirklees Child Safeguarding team.

He has been ordered to sign the Sex Offenders’ Register after his release from prison.
