Coventry man who groomed girl, 14 avoids prison

A Coventry man has been sentenced after engaging in sexual communications with a child.

David McMahon, 39, appeared at Warwick Crown Court on Monday, April 4.

McMahon communicated with the now 14-year-old girl for nearly six months before he was arrested for grooming a child.

And last week he was given eight months suspended for two years.

McMahon of Hudson Vale, Tile Hill, was ordered to sign the sex offenders’ register for 10 years and carry out 200 hours of unpaid work.

He will also have to wear a tag for four weeks.
