Cambridge paedophile told police he attacked schoolgirl because he was drunk
A paedophile from Cambridge who sexually assaulted a schoolgirl was jailed this week.
Ian Taylor, aged 53, of Bayford Place, King’s Hedges, attacked the child in the early hours of December 21 last year, with the offence only coming to light when she confided in a family member
In interview, Taylor admitted the assault and told officers he was drunk.
Cambridgeshire police said he accepted touching the girl was inappropriate but that he claimed he was depressed at the time.
He was charged with assaulting a girl under the age of 13, pleaded guilty and was sentenced to one year and ten months in prison at Peterborough Crown Court on Wednesday (August 18).
Taylor was also placed on the Sex Offenders Register for a decade and made the subject of a Sexual Harm Prevention Order for the same duration to monitor his future behaviour.
