Man, 44, showed porn film to child

A 44-year-old man was yesterday placed on the sex offenders’ register for five years after admitting showing a pornographic video to a child.

Marcus Alan Green of Ffridd Uchaf, Penrhyndeudraeth, pleaded guilty at Dolgellau magistrates’ court to causing a child to watch or look at an image of sexual activity for his own sexual gratification.

The court heard that Green had given the 13-year-old victim a lift in his car and then invited the youngster to his flat.

Green put the video recorder on “play” and left the boy alone in the room.

Green then went outside, and peered through the window at him.

The boy realised that it was a blue movie and was shocked and embarrassed.

Mel Hughes, prosecuting, said that other instances involving the defendant had been brought to the attention of police, but no charges had been preferred.

Court chairman Mrs Kit Ellis placed Green on a three-year community order with a supervision element and ordered him to sign the sex offenders’ register for five years and pay £60 court costs.
