Khurum Raziq and Nasar Hussain jailed for sexual abuse in Kirklees

Two men who sexually abused a vulnerable young girl and “ripped away” her childhood have been jailed for a combined 40 years.

Khurum Raziq, 40, from Heckmondwike, and Nasar Hussain, 44, from Dewsbury, were sentenced at Leeds Crown Court

The men were found guilty of multiple rape offences against a female victim in the Heckmondwike and North Kirklees areas.

Raziq was sentenced to 22 years after being found guilty of eight offences of rape.

Hussain was sentenced to 18 years after being found guilty of three rape offences.

Leeds Crown Court heard Raziq – a pizza delivery driver – was introduced to his victim when she was just 12 years old and proceeded to commit multiple rape offences against her.

He groomed her by plying her with alcohol, drugs and cigarettes.

Hussain was introduced to the same girl by another girl when she was 14 and proceeded to groom her before committing repeated sexual offences.

The court also heard that on occasion, Hussain had picked up the victim from school while she was in school uniform.

The victim described how she was “brainwashed” believing he was her boyfriend and gave accounts of having sex with him in his car, his bedroom and an alleyway in Batley.

Following his arrest on 28 October, he continued to engage her in sexual activity after he was released on bail, but no further police action was taken.

The court heard how she had later been “passed around” and sexually abused by more than 50 men.

On one occasion she was taken to Middlesbrough and “abused by many men when she was locked in a room for three days”.
