Pervert who asked girl for her knickers back in court

A pervert who attempted to incite a child to engage in sexual activity outside her own home has been hauled back before the courts.

John Carr was previously locked up for three years at Warrington Crown Court in 2015 over the incident.

The now 55-year-old, of Wilson Patten Street in Warrington town centre, approached his victim as she walked home from the shop down an alleyway at the back of the property in Widnes.

He was drunkenly walking his dog after consuming a cocktail of brandy, cider and prescribed and non-prescribed drugs when he made an ‘indecent and explicit proposition’ outside her gate.

Carr then asked the youngster ‘can I have your knickers?’ as she attempted to back away.

The teen shouted to her dad for help and ran away, and was left ‘up all night vomiting’ following the incident.

Police then attended the defendant’s flat and discovered two pairs of knickers when arresting him.

Carr also has previous convictions for possessing indecent images of children and extreme pornographic images depicting people committing ‘unnatural acts with animals’.

He appeared before Chester Magistrates Court on Wednesday, May 18, and admitted failing to comply with notification requirements.

Having been on the sex offenders’ register since 2014, he failed to notify police of a change of address over a two-week period in April and May this year.

Magistrates ordered Carr, formerly of Bell House Road in Widnes, to pay court costs of £85 and an £80 victim surcharge
