Man, 28, jailed for nine years for sexual offences against girl
A man aged 28 has been jailed for nine years for sexual offences against a girl.
Christopher Geraghty, of no fixed address, but formerly of Halifax was sentenced as “an offender of particular concern” by Judge Ahmed Nadim at Bradford Crown Court.
Geraghty was convicted by a jury of six offences. They included one assault by penetration and five counts of sexual assault on a child.
Judge Nadim passed an extended prison term of nine years custody with a 12-month extended licence period.
He made a sexual harm prevention order without limit of time and ordered Geraghty to sign on the sex offender register, also without limit of time.
Judge Nadim said that a substantial prison sentence must be meted out after Geraghty had left his victim severely damaged and suffering nightmares.
