Ex Swindon businessman made 13,000 child abuse images

A former Swindon businessman has admitted making over 13,000 indecent photos of children across a six-year period.

Sascha Hunsinger, 51, pleaded guilty to the charges which involve a total of 13,607 still images and 124 moving images between July 2014 and October 2020.

These ranged from 395 of the most serious types of images showing rape and torture of young children to sexual exploitation images

Hunsinger, who used to manage a Swindon branch of the Drain Doctor plumbing franchise, is now living in Germany.

He appeared at Swindon Crown Court via video link to enter his pleas.

His defence counsel Emma Handslip applied for a pre-sentence report due to his “previous good character here in the UK”.

Hunsinger was granted bail but must register as a sex offender as soon as is “practicable”.

Judge Keith Cutler CBE added: “You will know the mere fact I’m imposing bail is no indication about the sentence.”

Sentencing was adjourned until May 25 when it is expected Hunsinger will appear in court in person
