Man from the Meon Valley jailed for grooming and sexually abusing two girls in Hampshire

A teenager from the Meon Valley has been jailed for grooming and sexually abusing two young girls in Hampshire.

Calvin Da Fonte, of Sandy Hill Close in Waltham Chase, was jailed for five years after he admitted five counts of sexual activity with a child and three counts of making indecent images of children.

The 19-year-old admitted the charges, which took place when he was 18, at a hearing at Portsmouth Crown Court on December 7 and he was sentenced by His Honour Judge Timothy Mousley QC on April 1.

The abuse took place in the Whiteley, Warsash and Waltham Chase areas between July 2020 and May 2021 when the girls were under the age of 16.

Da Fonte groomed, manipulated and abused these young girls for his own gratification.

The court was told that he knew their age, and knew that his deplorable actions were wrong, which is why he initially tried to deny to police that he had committed the offences.
