Man jailed after pleading guilty to possessing ‘extreme’ child sexual abuse images
A Wiltshire man has been jailed for more than two years after pleading guilty to multiple charges relating to indecent images of children.
Richard Baker, 66, of no fixed address, Bratton, Westbury, was jailed on March 10 for 28 months after pleading guilty to seven different charges all relating to indecent images.
On September 29, 2020, officers from the Child Internet Exploitation Team at Wiltshire Police attended what was then the address for Baker following intelligence which suggested he had been uploading indecent images to the internet.
He was arrested and a search of his address led to multiple electronic devices being seized and enquiries continued. Further indecent images were located on two mobile phones, including category A – the most serious category of images.
This investigation began when we received information that Baker had been using his personal Facebook account to distribute indecent images of children.
Police then seized multiple devices to fully understand the scale of the offending and as part of their enquiries they found some of the most extreme type of indecent images of children.
Baker admitted to not only possessing extreme pornographic images and making indecent images but also distributing these indecent images.
Baker was also issued with a 10 year Sexual Harm Prevention Order and ordered to pay a £181 victim surcharge.
