A 43-year-old taxi driver has been jailed after grooming a 14-year-old girl over the internet.
The teen, who cannot be named, nicknamed David Farr her “Dirty Daddy Pig” in messages exchanged over the net and mobile phone.
In return, he called her his “slut daughter”.
Farr was visibly shaken and shocked in the dock when Judge Rhys Rowlands sent him to prison for 14 months following what he called vile and disgusting messages leading to a sexual encounter in a remote spot.
Farr admitted meeting a child following sexual grooming and sexual activity with a child.
But his crimes only came to light when the vulnerable girl’s mother accessed her daughter’s mobile phone and discovered what had been happening.
When she spoke to her daughter about it, the fearful teenager said: “It’s too late now.”
Jennet Treharne, prosecuting at Merthyr Tydfil Crown Court, said Farr, then 42, of Usk Road, Bargoed, had met the girl at a social function and she had started contacting him and his wife through the social networking site, Facebook.
But things progressed when Farr and the girl started to exchange explicit messages, too salacious to read out in court, with him telling her she was beautiful and that he wanted to have sex with her.
On Tuesday, September 8, last year, Farr collected the girl from a house in Pontlottyn and drove her to a remote spot on Fochriw mountain, where they kissed before he touched her intimately under her clothing.
“He started to kiss her. It was sloppy and it went on for ages,” said Ms Treharne.
They were disturbed by a local farmer and Farr moved the car further up the road where they continued.
When the girl’s mother discovered the messages, she confronted Farr while his wife was present and he admitted what had happened and apologised.
Jeff Jones, defending Farr, who has no previous convictions, said he had lost his employment and was now divorced, having signed the house over to his ex-wife.
Farr, who brought up his wife’s two children from a different relationship, also now only had supervised contact with his 14-year-old natural son.
He said: “He is a classic example of a man whose life has crumbled.”
Jailing Farr, Judge Rowlands told said: “I have seen some of the things that you sent to this young girl and they were vile and disgusting
“The severity is viewing a child in that way.
“Whatever the level of her knowledge and however precocious she may or may not have been, the law is designed to protect the young from themselves and the likes of you.”
